The cartoon skeleton project was my favorite project this semester. I also think that it was one of my more successful projects. Since this was one of the first projects we did, I think I put the most effort into it because I wanted it to be really good. It was my favorite project because it was a really creative idea. I also got to pick a character that I wanted to do, which I enjoyed. I got to be really creative with this project and learn to use proportion. I thought it was really fun and enjoyed creating a skeleton version of Minnie Mouse. That is why this was my favorite project this semester.
I learned, grew, and developed the most from the Contour Shoe Drawing project. This project was very difficult for me. I had to use drawing skills that I have never used before, such as not lifting my pen. It was also challenging just using a pen instead of a pencil because I couldn't erase any mistakes I made. This project taught me to look at the details of the object I am drawing. It also taught me how to take my time and not rush while I was drawing. This project helped me grow as an artist because it required me to use new skills that were new to me. That is why I learned, grew, and developed the most from this project.
3. Choose 1 piece
of Art that you used skills and techniques learned from previous projects.
Discuss your growth as an artist and how you incorporated these skills and
techniques to create the piece.
I used skills and techniques that I had learned from previous projects for the Stencil Portrait project. I incorporated many of the things I have learned in this class into this piece. Many of these skills and techniques have helped me grow as an artist. My growth as an artist can be shown through the skills that I incorporated into this piece of art. Towards the beginning of the class, I didn't know how to incorporate all of the skills and techniques that I have learned this year into my artwork. The more I learn, the more I grow as an artist. I incorporated a lot of the things I have learned into this project. Some of these skills/techniques include value, shading, color, and artistic creativity. That is why this project shows many of the skills and techniques that I have learned from previous projects.
4. Which project do
you feel was the least important in learning the concepts taught in this
course? Please explain.
I feel that the clay tile project was the least important in learning the concepts taught in this course. It did require some skills and techniques that I learned through this course. However, I don't think it was as important as all of the other projects we did this year. It did not require any of the techniques and skills for drawing that we used a lot of this year. Although, I did learn about animals and their biome's through this project. Sculpting clay was not something that we spent a lot of time and focus on throughout the course. To me, this was just a fun project that we did towards the end of the year. That is why I feel this was the least important project in learning the concepts taught in this course.
5. Choose a piece
or artwork where the subject matter reflects you as an artist. One that you
have a personal connection to. Please explain your choice.
The landscape painting project reflects me the most as an artist. I think that I truly express myself through painting. It allows me to make my own creative and artistic choices and reflect myself through the painting. I painted a picture I took of the Swiss Alps while I was in Europe last summer. I have a personal connection to this painting because the trip I took the picture on was very memorable. Since I got a chance to paint the picture, it makes it even more special because I got to express myself in it. The painting reflects all of the exciting things I did and incredible things I got to see on my trip to Europe. It also shows how much I have grown as an artist throughout the past year and all of the things I have learned.
